Weill Cornell Medicine Student Health Services (SHS) provides primary care and occupational health care to enrolled Weill College Medicine students.
The SHS Medical Director serves as the primary care provider, and in conjunction with a registered nurse, all non-emergency medical problems and preventive care are managed at the SHS. Students are encouraged to first seek care at the SHS. If needed, the Medical Director will assist in making appropriate referrals to medical specialists.
Many of the services provided at SHS are provided at no or low cost to the student, including primary care physician visits, mental health screenings, required vaccinations, blood draws, allergy shots (in conjunction with an allergist), chronic disease management and certain point-of-care tests. The SHS is not enrolled in any insurance plans. The SHS does not charge students any co-payments and does not bill private insurance plans for services provided by the SHS Medical Director and Nurse. Insurance information is furnished to the lab, radiology department and sub-specialists for their billing purposes and students will be responsible for coordinating payment of those services with their health insurance.
Student Mental Health Program
